Als we het eend-konijn plaatje zien, kunnen we dan niet ook juist nog andere vormen onderscheiden? Ter lering ende vermaak?
De kunstenaar denkt niet in termen van proposities die (de) correspondentie claimen. Maar denkt de rechter wel volgens de wegen van de kunstenaar?
Sinds een aantal maanden gebruik ik de combinatie “eau” in situaties waar de lange o-klank speelt. Hoe groot was mijn schok toen bleek dat GeenStijl dat eauk al tijden doet. Had ik het dan toch gejat?

But why a jerk? Valt het niet in het gezicht dat de wens schijnt te moeten zijn dat we rationele, of minstens dan onfeilbare wezens waren?
Kunnen we het niet “omdraaien?” Of beter slagzij maken? Zouden we cryptomnesia, hoewel het in de nauwe definitie vanzelfsprekend zeldzaam, niet moeten begrijpen als het hart van generatieve ideeën over ons bewustworden?
“It seems likely that most so-called past life regressions induced through hypnosis are confabulations fed by cryptomnesia.‡
Is er een mooier woord dan “confabulaties” behalve dan natuurlijk “mensenrechten?”

“Bij El-Bakraoui zie je – cynisch gezegd – op een prachtige manier wat de werkelijkheid is van die informatie-uitwisseling. Dan gaat het er dus om of boven een berichtje wel of niet ‘URGENT’ staat. En of dat aan de andere kant van de lijn dat berichtje wel of niet wordt geopend.

Het oeroude principe hierbij is need to know: mensen krijgen alleen die informatie die ze nodig hebben om hun werk te doen.
Als je het kader klein genoeg maakt, wordt alles simpel.
“De eerste les die je krijgt is: inlichtingendiensten hebben veel partners, maar geen vrienden. Echt vertrouwen doe je niemand,” vertelt risico- en veiligheidsexpert Mike Moolenaar, die bij een inlichtingendienst heeft gewerkt.
En ik maar denken dat ik niemand moest vertrouwen!
“Het zijn bange organisaties. Mensen gaan zich indekken. Een fout kan het einde van je carrière zijn.” En dan kan het voorkomen dat iemand die bijvoorbeeld een goed contact bij de CIA heeft, zijn nek niet meer durft uit te steken.
De cultuur van de dwingeland logica.

Is er iets dat mooier is dan ironie? Behalve dat ons ironie gegeven is?
De kikker in de kookpan doet het altijd goed. Maar wat is die andere situatie dat we Het over het hoofd zien? Als het continu gebeurt? Als we er middenin zitten er volkomen onderdeel van zijn?
Voor gevangenen van het denken is zelfs de savanne nog eencellig.

Because we all remember the last Republican president who was known as the scourge and the nightmare of our age.
For a cowboy that must be a good thing.

Halloween, Oud en Nieuw, Chinees Nieuwjaar, Tet. Allemaal momenten om de oude geesten – de krachten van weleer – te verdrijven. Met een schone lei te beginnen.
Want als we ons voorstellen dat we dat doen, dan doen we dat ook – in meer of mindere mate. Je bewustzijn van de zaak speelt hierin een nogal gelaagde rol, maar toch wel een wezenlijke.
Maar waar komen die goeie voornemens dan vandaan? Zouden we ze kunnen beschouwen als ze overijverige versie van de schone lei? Maar schieten we dan niet ons doel voorbij?
Een schone lei heeft vakantie en goeie voornemens, hoe welbedoeld dan ook, lijken dan meer op een werklunch of een weekje team-building.
Wat is het probleem met team-building?

Wie waren nou het eerst met die concentrasiekampies? Au fin de siècle? De Britten? De Amerikanen? Of toch die Spaanse furie?
